Author Mike Murdock stated, “The only reason men fail is because of broken focus.” To achieve the dreams and reach your desired levels of success, it will require disciplined focus. However, you must understand an enemy is lurking continuously to distract us from our dreams. So, let's explore the five major distractions used to lure your focus from your goals:
Time ~ We look at others and assume they achieved their goals quickly, and as a result, because we did not meet our goal in the desired timeframe, we quit. You must comprehend your journey is just that, your journey. So no matter the duration keep GOING.
Age ~ Some view themselves as too old or give little to no credit to the young, or worse, they allow others to cast doubt in their minds based on age. Your age is only a limit in YOUR MIND.
Words ~ Be careful who you allow to speak into your life, including yourself. “Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof” (Proverbs 18:21). The words we allow into our minds will manifest our dreams or stifle our desires.
History ~ There is always something or someone willing and able to remind you of your past. You must not allow your yesterdays to deter you from your tomorrows. Stop focusing on where you have been, and remember, success is an uphill journey, so keep looking upward and forward.
Finances ~ I want to start a family once I have enough money. I want to buy a house once I have enough money. I want to start my business once I have enough money. Enough is enough right now. God gives you vision, then He gives provision to achieve your vision. In your quest to become an entrepreneur, always remember “God will make a way where there seems to be no way” (Isaiah 43:16).
